Installing mysql gem on Leopard

  • Get MySQL from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/. (Get 64-bit dmg)
  • Install it
  • Command for gem install:
    sudo env ARCHFLAGS="-arch x86_64" \
    gem install mysql -- \
    --with-mysql-config=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config
